How to clone your credentials for COUNTER 5.1 version?

How do I transition to COUNTER 5.1 in CELUS?

To help our users seamlessly transition to COUNTER version 5.1, CELUS provides the option to clone your existing COUNTER 5 credentials with an automatically updated SUSHI URL. Please note that the cloned credentials will only function for publishers already offering COUNTER 5.1 reports.

Which publishers are already providing COUNTER 5.1 reports?

 You can find out which publishers already provide COUNTER 5.1 reports in the COUNTER Registry: 

You can see on the screenshot above that as of the date of issue of this article (29 Jan 2025), only ProQuest and Cabells are providing COUNTER 5.1 reports. 

Is cloning my credentials going to work for all publishers?

Even though it is recommended by COUNTER Metrics that the publishers keep the same credentials for COUNTER 5.1 API as for SUSHI API of COUNTER 5, some publishers may not adhere to this practice and require users to generate new credentials. Once this information becomes available to CELUS, we will publish it here. 

HOW do I clone my version 5 credentials to COUNTER 5.1?

1. Go to "SUSHI Management" in the left side menu and choose the SUSHI credentials which you want to clone. In this manual, we will choose ProQuest from the list of current credentials:

1.b) Alternatively, you can choose all credentials that are available to be cloned to 5.1 by clicking the "Potential issue" dropdown and choose "Can be cloned to 5.1". (Please note that these are not platforms that already provide 5.1 reports, but merely COUNTER 5 credentials you have not cloned to 5.1 version yet.):

2.b) Click the checkbox above the credentials to choose all and continue with step 3. 

3. Click the box next to your chosen credentials and click the "CLONE TO 5.1" button:

4. Keep the "Start harvesting" slider enabled if you want to verify the credentials and start harvesting immediately, and click "CLONE TO 5.1":

5. A harvesting dialog will open. You can choose the start and end date here. We recommend to start with only one month, to verify the functionality of the credentials as fast as possible. Click "Start XX downloads":

6. Once the reports are harvested (as marked by the green arrows), you can close the dialog:

7. You can now see your cloned credentials. By clicking "Overview", you can see the harvests.
