Why are there discrepancies between CELUS data and the publisher's data?

CELUS only displays data as received from the publishers without making any modifications. Discrepancies occur when publishers change their historical data retrospectively, which CELUS has no way of detecting unless the data is reharvested.

How can I ensure my analysis uses the most accurate data?

To ensure accuracy:

  • Reharvest data before performing any major analysis.
  • If you notice discrepancies between CELUS data and the publisher's data, reharvesting is the safest approach.

Does CELUS notify users when publishers change historical data?

Unfortunately, CELUS is not informed when publishers change historical data. We have contacted COUNTER Metrics to address this issue and to encourage publishers to announce when and why such changes occur. We will update users as soon as we receive more information.

What is CELUS doing to address this issue?

CELUS has raised the issue with COUNTER Metrics in hopes of establishing a system where publishers notify users about changes to historical data. We are committed to keeping users informed of any developments.
